Well I guess my problems have started with this "NEW" Cobra 150. I installed the radio in my Jeep and after doing the preliminary cks. I started playing with the radio. I turned the 10 KC switch on and low and behold it did not work. So I guess I will wait till I start having the audio problem with the radio before I send it back for warranty work. They can fix all the problems at once.
It's a load of poop though when you buy a radio and stuff does not work out of the box, especially after paying the 30 bucks for the "Mobile or Base Quality Check"
People did say the radio was a headache so I guess I'll take an aspirin and chill.

--Yeah, it is a little weird that, at least after frequency modification, the 10KC switch has NO function. After modification, though, just changing the channel will automatically go to those "in between" (A) channels and you don't have to use the 10Khz switch. I don't know who modified it for you, but it is not the fault of the tech. For whatever reason Cobra designed it that way.

--IF and ONLY if my 150GTL DX does not have to be sent in for anymore warranty work (at least in a reasonable amount of time), will I call it an excellent radio. I didn't own it that long until EC43 crapped out on me. Otherwise, it is a good deal for the money, especially if you buy it with the mail-in rebate. Nice power output, frequency coverage, compliments on audio, etc. Good luck with the radio, though.

I thought I had this 10 KC thing figured out on this radio. So, I went outside in my t-shirt and boxer briefs to the Jeep knowing that I had this 10KC thing conquered. Well I don't! The only thing I can figure out with this radio is that when it gets the extra freqs the 10 KC switch is disabled, because it sure doesnt work. So I guess
