I have a Road Devil mic on the way and the first thing I want to do is paint it BLACK... Sorry, that flashy red does absolutely nothing for me!

Any particular paint type that someone could recamend based on experience?

How hard is it to completely remove the front and back cover? Is the grill removeable or will I have to mask it?

when you remove the screws to change the battery, it falls apart neatly...never noticed about the grill, though. the plastic will need a primer, or else the paint will peel rather quickly.

If I were to purchase a dead 636L mic, would the same case work? Or any other model Astatic mic of the same configuration?
