I recently posted about my 2517, it had a blown cap #904 on the power in circuit board. It did this when the power switch was operated.
I replaced the bad cap with a new one,.001uf. But still have low power on transmit, only about a watt or so. I have 13.8 volts going to the main circuit board, receive is fine. Just very weak on transmit. I have looked for any telltale signs of another burnt component, and nothing looks out of whack.
Please, I need some suggestions, point me in the right direction.
I am not a repair tech, just a hobbiest who knows enough to get in trouble. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Never mind, I found it. It wound up being 2 different problems. Blown cap from power surge and a loose solder joint on main pc board.

Thanks anyway
