Dxmodulator,
Unless you are very familiar & have experience with working with & soldering SMT components it is NOT an easy thing to do unless you have the right equipment & experience.
Do a Google Search for:
Cobra Technicial Service Bulletin #10041
Or call Cobra Consumer Response Group at: 773-889-8870 and they may send it to you.
Note
There will be 7 pages of instructions in the Service Bulletin and pictures to walk you through Fixed Volume Talkback or Adjustable Talkback.
Remember one small mistake and the radio can go POOF!
