Thats odd. Check for cold solder joints. Also I had a Galaxy that I did some mods to and it started doing similar to what your describing. I opened it back up and found out that a little plug was pulled out of its socket. This little plug was connected to part of the pll and the freq counter. Check for something like that especially if its been modded around with. Also just for grins, its a shot in the dark, try turning the radio on and off real quick like a few times. I have a Cobra like that with the same problem and when I switch it off and on a few times it goes back on freq. Strange I know but hey it worked for me! good luck
