Would a 29 guage sheet metal roof be any good as a groundplane? its about a 26 degree slope. Has anyone tried this?

Yes - I have run a sheet metal roof as a ground plane and in fact a ham friend of mine in B aker still does. It will work but a flatter roof would be better.
