Does anyone know what the output deadkey and swing watts from a Magnum S-9 is stock out of the box with the Topgun Modulator off and the RF power control turned all the way down to minimun deadkey?
Would like to use it with a smaller amp that will take 15 Watts swing.
I am presently using a stock Magnum S-3 that only swings about 15 Watts with the Topgun Modulator
off and power control turned all the way down and it works fine.
Answers appreciated.

variable power to low seems to be 3 or less on most i've seen. topgun on or off, turn the mic gain down & swing drops to whatever you need. you can go pretty low before any noticeable drop in audio, & from what i've been told, that cleans up the signal somewhat as well-if it's a concern.
my S9 didn't meet specs out of the box-hi or low. after a tweak or 2, it'll key from 1-12, & swing to almost 40 PEP, about 17-18 rms swing. by adjusting the mic gain, it'll swing as low as i need it, for any amp. out of the box it was a tough match to smaller amps, now with a wider range of adjustment, it's pretty flexible.
