I have just been given a Midland 22-242 microphone and hope somebody knows what goes to what pin on the 4 pin socket.

I kinda want to try this mic on the 520.

Tech237,

MIDLAND 4 Pin Mic Wiring is:

PIN #1 ~ AUDIO
PIN #2 ~ SHIELD
PIN #3 ~ RECEIVE

Lon,
This is just a mic that was not originally intended for radios. It is a dual impedence microphone that normally sits on the end of a goose neck type mic holder. I do not think normal Midland radio pin-out is compatible, but thanks.
