i got a box of cb radios off a friend 9 in all and 2 scanners.there is 1 called electonics communications inc.the strange thing is it has crystals they are not in the cb range"they are 37.000 thru 37.900" could this be a fm model radio,just curios/thanks |

when i first started police work , 1970 , 37.180 was our police freq. |

Look on the radio for a FCC and model tag BY LAW it has to have one chances are its FM .... |

no, its a normal 23 channel radio. the reason the crystals are in the 37.### range is because the crystal's freq. is mixed with another crystal's freq. (most likely around 10mhz) to make the required 27.### freq. different manufacturers used all kinds of different mixing combinations. 23mhz, 11mhz, 17mhz, all kinds. look in the radio and see if you can find one or two crystals that are in the 10mhz range. matt |

kid Your right if its a 23 ch crystal plexer they had 37 mhz and 10 mhz crystals. It STILL should have a FCC/model tag ...... NO 23 ch crystal plexer is still leagal however you can convert them to 10 meters if your a ham.... |
