You must obtain an Amateur Radio (ham) License. Right now you would need to study Element 2 Technician Class Theory and take Element 1 morse code test at 5 wpm. The element 2 exam you can study for online at eham.com nice practice tests there. then you would need to study the Element 3 General Class Theory. This would allow you have operation on the 10 meter band.

Sounds like alot don't it? I have good news for you however. The FCC has dropped the code requirements for all class operators. So with just taking element 2 theory you will be permitted to use 28.300 to 28.500 phone at 200 watts.

This however has not taken effect as of yet. It has to be entered into the federal register. We think it will go into effect the end of Jan. 07 or Feb. 07. But go ahead and study so you will be ready. The test is not hard.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!
