Has anybody tried using a fiber Glass Marine VHF for 2 Meters, I have a spare in my garage and though about trying it

Sonny,
They're too short for 2m as marine frequencies are high 159Mhz to low 160 mhz range.

They can work with most modern sets but the radios protection circuit will activate and reduce the power.

237 thanks for the info, wondering why the manufactures donnot make one for 2 m I had a ground plane once might have to go that route
