I guess since the header of this string is in mic wiring then you are.

OK, the Omni VI uses any standard Ten Tec 4 pin mic. The 4 pin mic connector is a Ten Tec P/N 35057.

Pin #1 goes to the + side of the mic element.
Pin #2 goes to the – side of the mic element
Pin #3 goes to Push to Talk switch
Pin #4 is a 9VDC connection. It is used only if the mic element is an electret condenser that requires a polarizing voltage.

You MUST GROUND the shell of the plug.

What kind of mic are you going to use and then we can go from there?

Marty

--Hi, Slugo4449. Well, I really don't know what kind or microphone I plan on using. The radio does not have a microphone with it, so if the average CB mic. will work, I will use it for now. If I use something I own at the moment, I can use either an Astatic D104M6B power mic. handheld, or an Astatic 636L noise canceling. I have no idea how either of these microphones will sound, though. Maybe Heil Sound or Ten-Tec make good microphones for this rig. Thanks.

Mayor:

All Ten Tec 4 pin mics work on this radio. So If you find a website that shows the wiring for any other models of Ten Tec radios that are 4 pin, it will work on the Omni Series.
