Hey Roger. I still have mine, still keep saying I am going to put it up, but yet it is still in the shop in the box, unopened.
With everything I am involved in, I just have never taken the time to put it up. I bet you I have had it for almost four years now. Stupid me I guess. Of course, when you can put a Wilson 500 mag mount on your wood stove and talk to Lon like I did a few years ago, who needs an outside antenna?? :-)

Does anyone know which relays are needed too beef the antenneas up for power? I have one that is 2 yrs old and it shows it. It is still in very nice shape. i have heard these take upto 200 bird watss or so. Anymore will fry them relays. I have heard of folks replacing the relays. I have done some cleaning on mine and I replaced the coax on it also. I went it and beefed the traces on the boards of control and relay box. I got this from a friend for helping him put up a tower and his moonraker 4 beam. He was the person whom informed me he use to put some radio shack relays in the relay box and run lots more watts. Id like to find out if this is true and I am also thinking of parting with this super scanner I have. Id kinda like to get the beefier relays installed 1st. I have sold one of these that I had a yr or so ago. I completly restored it screws and all, stainless though and I sold it to a guy in florda for 350 bucks and it cost 88 bucks to send it. The buyer paid all. He also sent me an email several weeks later. He told me in a 3 page email how he loves it and how good it works, and he loved most the shape it was in. As brand new. Anyway, anyone know the relay type and the model numbers needed? Ant info would be GREAT!! Thanks.

Nsrr,

Since the Super Scanner antenna has long been discontinued try going to: www .google.com and do a search for: Super Scanner Antenna

I had a SuperScanner 10yrs ago and sold it, much to my regret! That was a great antenna.
I had it mounted maybe 30-35ft from the ground up and it got out great with the SS3900 & Roadrunner 175 linear I had at the time.
Never let me down.

NSRR- Look for Super Scanner antennas on internet auction sites. They are no longer made. If you have the room, you could also put up a good groundplane antenna and a 3 or more element beam.

am currenlty restoring an A/S Super Scanner (the model without the tuning stub) and was wondering if anyone would have the following information:
A/ Element and coaxial cable color codes
B/ Element directional alignment

Unfrotunately the instalation manual I have only refers to color codes which have long since faded from sight on the equipment.

Thanks

I have heard that the super scanner could take 100 watts in omnidirectional and 1200 in beam mode. Please don`t take my advice as it could wrong.

What year did they stop make super scanners? I remember then from the 1980s.
