I'm considering one of the above radios. What aftermarket mic is preferred? Any preferences or suggestions. Radio will always be used as a base for ssb transmission. Mic must have a long pliable cord. No mics with July to August cords!

hey Burt i have used two mics that really wake up the 2950DX radios. the Aries DM-452 a power mic with echo that you can trun off or just add a touch of reverb but it really wakes the audio up and it can be had for $18.00 and the results are great. But the one i am using right now is the RF limited EC-2018 Extreme i would call this mic the echomax 2000 of mobile mic's man this thing blows. also has the toys on it if you want to use echo, reverb, robot syborg all kinds of crazy stuff. but this radio with this mic has tremendus auuuuuuuuuuuuudio the best between the two. works and sounds great on am & ssb little pricey but well worth it seen them between $59.00 too $79.00. both work excellent on ssb and am but really you won't belive the studio quality sound you will get from these two mics.
