"RG405 Coax" Can this coax be used for CB? It is 50 ohm. Hopefully Simon will see this, and post his thoughts.

OK I did a search and found the specs and although it is 50 ohm, it's loss per 100ft looks a little high for my liking.

Go to www.google.com and do a SEARCH for:

RG-405 Coax Specifications

It may be OK for short jumpers but not much else.

I'll take a look Simon. I've just been prowling around the net the past few days after my shoulder surgery trying to find trouble. Thanks again Simon you have been very helpful to me.

My favorite coax (thin stuff) would be lmr-240 ultraflex. about 69 cents a foot, 1/3 less loss than the rg-58 CB types. and fits in the little window crack underneath my AC unit :-)

i will second the LMR240 claim.
switching from the stock rg58 coax that came with my wilson 1000 to the lmr240 got rid of my fuel pump noise problem. in a ford!
