I'm looking for a radio either mobile or base that has the GMRS capability. I want to use it with my handhelds.

You would have to use a commercial UHF radio for a base or mobile GMRS. I use two Motorola GM300's, one in the house and one in my truck. You can usually pick them up on popular auction sites for $100 or so. If you know someone or a buisiness that will program them for you that will save you some time and money buying a programming cable and software. By the way, if your thinking about using MARS/CAP modded ham rig, don't do it, it's not legal for GMRS use.
