Anyone using one and how do you like it? I am starting to buy some things for the spring antenna project. I have heard you can't buy a tougher antenna and that what Im looking for. Very pricy! Would like dual polarity but all they make is a dual polarity 3 element. I was wanting a 4 or 5.Always heard flat was the way to go for the real long range stuff. Also beam users if you only had 1 polarity beams which would you prefer? Vert or horz? I will be running a groungplane also. They have some groundplanes that look nice. Matching network like the 10K and just as pricey!Thanks for any info you can provide! |

WEll if I had to do it over I would go with the biggest flat side beam and mount the ground plane above it.  |

Mrclean- I use a Mosley TA-34xl on Ham. Kinda different animal here cause mine has traps but I can tell you that what they make for Ham Radio is top notch for weathering the elements. They are built very well and are easy to take care of as far as changing out traps, etc (something I don't think you would have to worry about). It's been a few years, but last I knew they had a good service/support staff and parts were available for everything.
If you are looking to DX, consider a horizontal (flat) side only beam. Then, like Sonny mentioned, maybe just go with a decent ground plane up top of the beam. 73-- |
