Can the 8v from the #4 pin be used to power a power mic? Is there any power mics that are made for the RCI 2950/70DX? I seen a discontinued SRA117 but that looks like it only has echo. |

ANY radio with an unused pin can have 12 volts(or 7 volts for old style mics)put to it-as long as the mic has an unused wire. just go EASY when soldering, & make sure the voltage meets what it is supposed to. there are things in there that don't like 12 volts applied to them.
that said, i can't give you specifics on your radio & mic....check schematics/wiring diagram fro both. |

id try the 452 hand mike
as far as pin 4 i dont believe so.but might be wrong

In the schematic it shows pin 4 to have 8volts. Was wondering if anyone has tried to use this to power the mic?
How long does the batteries last in a power mic? I'm thinking of the DM452. Wish it had the chan up/dn on it. |

ive had batteries last years in power mics
in a base setup.in mobile about every 2 years or so.seems like.one thing ive notice is if i crank
the power mic up mid-full seems to drain battery
faster.maybe just my imagination but sure seems like it.if your gonna be in a mobile keep power mic down to just barely on and do all adjusting from radio this will help reduce background noise
