I have an old roadtalker 40 unit that I need a mic for. Does anyone know who the manufacturer of this unit ? I also need the mic wiring diagram . Any suggestions for a mic ?

You can get a replacement "Stock" microphone from Copper..The wiring is as follows:

1) Shield
2) N/C
3) TX
4) Audio
5) RX

I was just informed by Suzanne that the mic . I ordered thru copper & was going to be wired by copper , is not possible . This was for Astatic
575-M6 . Can a basic ( stock ) type mic. be wired ? If so which one ?

Hi River Rat. I think your radio has a din type plug like the older Realistics. If it does, you might want to find a Realistic or Radio Shack power mic. They arnt great but at least its a power mic. Try looking on Ebay. I got one for my crappy ol realistic back up radio cheap. 73 Ed
