Where can I get the Manual for this antenna. The Astro-Plane is assembled different so I am unable to use that manual.
I need to know how to assemble the fiberglass part of this antenna. Do I put the fiberglass between the aluminum or put the aluminum together when putting it together ? Thanks
Tell me just once more about isotropic antennas.....

Oops they plastic around the hoop and the plastic part that holds the mast in the middle.

I think the bolts should connect the metal parts with the plastic inbetween serving as stress relief. Since there are several producers, it hard to tell.
Just make sure that the elements make an electrical connection with each other all the way around from the feed point. The feed point will show a short as long as the bottom loop is attached and the whole antenna shows continuity all the way around. |

Then that means the elements have to be touching each other when putting them together with the plastic parts. Or will the screws be good enough to make contact.
Or if someone has a manual scanned on their pc that could e-mail it to me. I was going to put the Top One up some time this week if I could remember how to assemble it.

Doughboyx, ask yourself what good would these plastic parts serve if they were not positioned between the flattened ends of these pieces of tubing with the bolt connecting each joint. Don't they have groves on both sides of the plastic that appear to accomadate these flattned ends? The same is true when building the bottom hoop also I think.
Like I said earlier, just make sure the antenna shows all elements to be connected electrically from the tip of the cap hat wires right around, down and back up to the center conductor of the feed point. Even the center mast support should show to be connected to the antenna parts. A good OHM's meter check for continuity will do that for you. |
