I had ordered a new 2950dx from Copper about a year ago and haven't looked back. This is a wonderful radio and Copper tuned it just like I asked them to. I request that the dead key be about one watt, I got a call from Copper later that same day telling me that the 2950 won't do one watt but they can get as low as two watts. Two watts was still good enough to run with my RM 203 amp! I have hundreds of hours of transmission time on this radio and amp, I'm always getting compliments from fellow radio operators of how great my radio sounds! FYI, if you're going to get a amp for this radio don't get one with a receive amp, it will overdrive the front end and just hinder your receiver. The 2950 has such a sensitive receiver anyway. I wouldn't own any other CB radio, the 2950 has everything I want in a radio and nothing I don't like echo, talk back, or noise toys. See my reviews for the RM 203P and non "P" amps, you might find some helpful hints.

I have 3 RCI 2950DX's. they are a great radio for the money, simple to use,and very trouble-free. Its the cheapest way to get on 10 or 12Meters, I run them with a D104 & a 5' Firestik antenna and worked the world many times over with great reports.

I bought one of the original RCI-2950 rigs used from a friend in 1991 and still have it. Back then all-mode rigs for under $300.00 is great. Put a D-104M6 hand mic on this rig and it's an all-mode talker. Great receive as well. This is a keeper.

I can?t say enough about how great these radios are for the SSB?er. Both the 2970DX I?ve tried and the 2950DX?s have performed flawlessly with excellent stability. They aren?t the loudest radios out there and they aren?t the easiest to use in terms of simplicity, but they are far and above a better SSB export radio than the majority of radios on the market. make sure to get tuned by copper, they did a good job on the one two i have. thx copper once again
