I LOVE THIS RADIO, I TOO GOT THE FAN KIT, BUT THEY DON'T STAND UP TO A IN-DIRECT HIT FROM LIGHTING IT MELTS EVERYTHING. I SENT IT BACK TO RCI AND IT TOOK FOR EVER TO GET AN ANSWER FROM THEM, THEIR REPLY WAS TO JUNK IT AND BUY A NEW ONE SO NOW I HAVE A 100.00 CREDIT AT RCI, SORRY COPPY

I had the 2995.. its a good rig but just be careful that you dont over heat it.. get the fan kit. Or use 2 cpu fans. They will run hot if you crank it for long periods of time. I had mine set low at a dead key.. but yes they are a good rig if there not abuse.

I have been wanting this radio since about 2003 when I heard some people ta;ling about it. I talk skip on AM side really gooI give it 5 starsd and had good responses about it, thanks Copper electronics for a great radio!!!!
