Texas Star DX 500V Mobile *

I LOVE THIS AMP,STRYKER 655HP WITH 1 WATT WILL SWING 550 ON MY DOSY METER.TEXAS STAR QUALITY!!!!!!!

This amp lasted for a whole 7- days. Run it on two Astron RS-50a power supply in parallel at 13.8 volts. Had two high speed fan blowing on it at all times. Got a SWR reading of 1.1. Never run more than 4-watts into it. New coax and a starduster ant. Looked inside and it looks to me like they sent me a used amp. Key down times of never more than 20 to30 seconds. It's dead putting out around 85 watts. Nothing I did was to blame for this amp blowing up, I have run many amps over the years and know how to do so. 7- days people you be the judge.

Just got this amp a few days ago great little box!!! They do what they are rated for!!! Worth the money!!!

I have owned a DX 500V Texas Star brand amplifier for 7 years using it in my pickup truck. The DX500V is a top shelf product that is built to give it's user, many years of service. The DX 500 along with my RCI 2950DX have given me the ability to use 10, 11, and 12 meters to make contacts all around the earth while waiting for Deer hunts to commence on the hunt club I am a member of. I have many QSL cards to prove it and one even from Kuwait! If I can hear em, I can work em and generally, I always get 59 copy as this is a very clean sounding, dependable, and ruggedly built amplifier. On SSB, this amplifier along with a tuned high end radio will provide it's user with about 490 CLEAN watts. I have read about other operators who claim that other brands do as many or more watts and that may be, but generally Texas Star means Quality. As a licensed amateur who runs mobile on some of the bumpiest washboard type roads in the Southern US, some roads that have even beaten other brands into submission. I've been told over the years that I'm hard on my electronics and Texas Star is my choice for the long haul. Keep an eye on your input wattage, make sure your SWR's are flat and make sure your electrical system will handle the 45 amps that this unit pulls, don't forget to include the amperage that your radio needs and you too will be Loud and Proud!
